ABOUT US

BRIEF HISTORY

Four Long Island pastors brought the Lutheran Counseling Center into existence in 1989 with the vision of raising it up as a healing ministry of the Church. In consultation with an understanding and very knowledgeable psychiatrist, the founding counselors held their first sessions in office space made available by The Lutheran Church of Our Saviour in Mineola.

In 1995 the Center's Board of Directors created a full time position for an executive director. Since that time, the Center has multiplied its locations, expanded its services, and reached into the lives of thousands of people who have come for assistance.
